deadline for Metropolitan is approaching |
The Dayton Amateur, now commonly referred to as the Metropolitan, began in 1919 when it was first contested at Dayton Country Club. Through the years many different people/organizations have run the championship, but beginning in 1996 the Miami Valley Golf Association took over Stewardship of the Championship.
The first year of MVGA's Stewardship the First Round was held at Yankee Trace Golf Club. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of MVGA's Involvement and thanks to Yankee Trace, this years Metropolitan will return to Yankee Trace where all four rounds of the Championship will be held on the Heritage and Legend courses (The Original 18), July 22 through 25th.
Thanks to the Ohio Golf Association, and beginning with this years Champion, an exemption into the following year's Ohio Amateur, will be awarded to our Champion, provided he retains his Amateur Status and other entry requirements.
The Deadline to Register is July 16th!
