Course Rating Season Starts on Monday |
Each year, your Miami Valley Golf Association supports the very core of our game by maintaining and issuing course ratings.
Why is this important? Because other than low gross competitions, which make up just a small fraction of daily play, our game is based upon the foundational calculations that are made possible and developed through the USGA Course Rating System. Thanks to all our well trained, highly professional, course rating volunteer teams led by Mary Rice and Al Schoolcraft as they start the Course Rating season! For More Information |
Through Youth on Course - Play, Laugh and Repeat |
By Dominic Dastoli, Contributing Writer to Miami Valley Golf Foundation |
Aaron Tobe’s teenage mind can only hold so much information.
“I don’t know my mom and dad’s birthdays,” he admitted. “And I have no clue what my social security number is.” But, he has memorized his eight-digit Youth on Course/GHIN member number. And for good reason: he’s used it often. Among the 3,046 rounds of golf played by local Youth on Course members in 2020, Tobe accounted for 69 of them, the most of any junior golfer in the Miami Valley. Just don’t ask him when he first joined Youth on Course, the nationwide program that allows juniors to play 9-hole rounds for $5 or less at select courses. “I have no clue,” Tobe said. “When Eddie and Jacob say we started, that’s when we started.” To Read Complete Article |

IS YOUR mvga/ghin membership inactive? |
To correspond with the ending of the off season and the beginning of the new golf season our MVGA/GHIN Membership 2020 season closed on Sunday, March 14 and the 2021 season began on Monday, March 15. Just what does that mean? If you play at a public facility or are a member of a non real estate club like "eClub" and have not already renewed for the upcoming season your account was placed into an "Inactive Status". To change this status all you need to do is renew at the facility either online or in person. If you are a member at a Private Facility the staff manages this for you, therefore, no action is needed.
