 Mercedes-Benz Dealer Championships
 Presented By...

On Monday, August 12th, 2013, Dayton Country Club was host to the annual Mercedes-Benz Dealership Championships, presented by Mercedes-Benz of Centerville.  In addition to the numerous amenities provided by the club, dealership and partners, two players from the field of 135 would qualify for the sectional championship in Hawaii.

The day started off with the arrival of all the players, many who were sporting the gray polos sold at registration which supported the Norma J. Ross Youth Foundation.  Several people headed to the range to check out the Mercedes Benz Performance Center which had just arrived following their 10-hour drive straight from the PGA Championship.  The competitors took this opportunity to utilize the same swing analysis equipment that is available to the pros.

At 10 o’clock, all 135 players headed out and took advantage of the great weather and pristine golf course.  It wasn’t long before someone claimed the attention of nearly every single golfer out there.  Dave Bates got his first hole-in-one on the par-3 second hole.  Although he didn’t win the Mercedes-Benz hole-in-one car (which was on the 18th hole), he doubled up on the betting hole and was thrilled about the shot.  Dave’s miraculous shot was one of many from his group, and they went on to win the two-man best ball title.

The players came off the course and sat down for an excellent dinner and awards presentation headed by Jenell Ross.  Winners from the numerous auction and raffle items were announced, and a special thanks was made to all the partners.

The big winners of the day were a couple familiar faces-one for their golf background in Dayton, another for their football background in Dayton.  Bob Jones and Keith Byars will be moving on to Hawaii for the Sectional Championship.  Bob claimed the low gross title while Keith earned the low net title.

We would like to give a big thanks to all the partners, especially the presenting partners, Reynolds & Reynolds and Huntington Bank, for all their support and donations that made the event so great.  So thanks again to them.  We would also like to send out a huge thanks to Dayton Club for being the host club to such a large and prestigious outing.  And a final thanks goes to the many volunteers from the Bob Ross Auto group that provided services to the players the entire day.  We hope everyone had a wonderful time, and we look forward to partnering with Mercedes-Benz of Centerville next year to host another great championship.  Good luck to Keith and Bob in Hawaii!
