Another beautiful day of weather awaited the kids at Rollandia as they showed up for their second-to-last Thursday of the year. Ted started the day off with a quick lesson. He stressed extending the left elbow and following through. The kids were able to hit some good shots with the woods today when they kept these things in mind.
After lunch, Fran Kick was our guest speaker. Fran gave the kids a task of getting in line in order with the number of the card they received. The trick was they were not allowed to talk. The kids were able to work together and get in order in six minutes. They used such tactics as hand signals, drawing in the sand, and text messaging to communicate. Fran then gave the kids a seemingly more difficult challenge in which each person received a different card but this time put it on their forehead without looking. Despite not knowing their own number, the kids once again were resourceful and found ways to communicate without talking to get in the correct order. However, this time it took them only two minutes! |
