|On Monday, June 1st NCR Country Club hosted the Boys 15-17 age division for the 42nd annual Ohio Junior World Championship. The boys 15-17 division consisted of 64 participants. The weather could have been better that day, conditions were cold, rainy, and windy most of the day but this didn't stop our contestants from recording low scores. Our winner for this age division was Jared Wilson who went out and had a even par 71 in some extreme weather conditions. This tournament brought Ohio's top young golfers to the Dayton area as they competed for 4 spots in the IMG Academy Junior World Golf Championship at Torrey Pines in San Diego, California which will take place July 14th to 17th. |
On Monday, June 8th the Boys 11-14 age divisions and Girls 11-17 age divisions took place on the NCR North course with top performers advancing to the IMG Academy Junior World Golf Championships as well. Our participants competed under grey skies for most of the day but all golfers were able to get their rounds in. The first age group that went out was the 11-12 year old boys. Once the competitors finished on 18 Mason Witt and Joseph Wilson both shot a 79 so it was time for a playoff. Mason outlasted Joseph on the second hole shooting a birdie while Joseph pared that hole. We had the same case for our next age division the 13-14 boys. There was a three way tie for two spots between Cade Breitenstine, Austin Greaser, and Jackson Chandler who all shot a 71. After the playoff both Cade and Austin earned the right to advance into the next round. The 13-14 year old girls was decided by Natalia Sompolvorachai who shot a 73. The final division for the girls 15-17 age group was won by Alyssa Burritt who who shot a 76!
