Kids and adults from the Mentors Matter program met at Rollandia Golf Course on June 15 in an effort to build on the relationships forged at The Memorial Tournament just a couple weeks ago.

Several new mentors also attended the Rollandia event.

Bill LeBoeuf and Scott McGohan talked to mentors and kids about the significance of the program. They focused on how important it was to have positive outside influences in their life.

Following the greetings, the mentors and the mentees participated in a game that would help break the ice. The group then enjoyed some delicious pizza donated by Todd Rogers and Donatos.

It wasn't long after lunch that Rollandia GC Head Professional Ted Cremeans talked to the kids about the game of golf. Mr. Cremeans went over the basics with the kids, most of whom have never swung a club before.

After Mr. Cremeans talked about the importance of safety on the golf course, the kids were taken to the driving range where they got to take their first swings.

During this time, Mr. Cremeans and the mentors offered advice on how to better hit the ball. The kids must have been listening, as many excellent shots were taken.

A great day was enjoyed by all. Mentors Matter continues on June 17 at Rollandia Golf Course.
