Happ is the director of the USGA Green Section
North-Central Region. He is involved in all aspects of the USGA Turf Advisory
Service: on-site visits to golf facilities; providing education and outreach to
allied golf associations and stakeholders; and sharing USGA turfgrass and
environmental research information. Ultimately, his goal is to help golf
facilities develop the desired playing conditions while staying within the
framework of an established budget.
Prior to assuming his current role, Keith was an agronomist in the Mid-Atlantic
Region. Before joining the USGA in 1993, he had turfgrass management
experience as a golf course superintendent. During his tenure as
superintendent he attained Certified Golf Course Superintendent status.Happ is a graduate of The Ohio State
University with a B.S. degree in Agronomy.
