|The second round of the Miami Valley Metropolitan brought
warmer temperatures but similar scores.
With the course in great shape, and a little less wind, we saw some low
scores from a few of the earlier groups out.
Dan DeVore who shot five over par yesterday fired a 69 today, and
Christopher Sloan who was four over par yesterday was one under par today. But clearly the round of the day belonged to
Nick Scott, who shot a seven-under 64.|
Scotts round began with three birdies on the front nine, and
just one bogey. His back nine was
marveling with five birdies in the last six holes. His six-under-par total earned him a six-shot
lead over Pete Betzhold, our lone competitor at even par. Mark Monfort, Jeff Scohy, Matt Buse, and our
first round leader, Austin Sipe are at one over par.
Although Nick holds a strong lead after day two, there are
many familiar names chomping at the bit who are just one good round from
putting themselves right back into the tournament. Third round tee times will begin at 10
o'clock, and our leaders will tee off at noon.
With four past champions still in the field, and many other familiar
names near the top, it's shaping up to be exciting weekend here at Miami Valley
