    Dixon feeling at home as a Lady RangerDayton District Women's Amateur Champion, Amanda Dixon had a difficult decision to make last year. Unhappy with her situation in the women's golf program at Wilmington College, she felt she had to quit the golf team or transfer to a school where she could play golf. She had spent too much time perfecting her golf game to give it up.
    Scohy "Keeping Up with the Youngsters"With all of the college kids in the Miami Valley Metropolitan Golf Championship sporting golf bags bearing the colors of the schools they attend, Jeffrey Scohy must have thought it was time to display his loyalty during the final round....

    Glavin Women's Match Play Champion

    Beavercreek, Ohio - Kathleen Glavin wins the 2010 Women's Amateur Match Play Championship defeating Amanda Dixon 9 & 8 in the 36 Hole Final. In the consolation bracket Grace Nikolai defeated Mary Callaway 5 & 4. 

    Some Highlights from the Weeks Play:

    Penny Bitzer beat defending champ and #1 seed  Molly Ginger in Quarterfinals by recording 6 birdies in her 5 & 3 victory.

    Kathleen Glavin made an eagle by holing her hybrid from 160 yards out on #10 in the Championship Match.

    5 Matches went at least 18 Holes with the most dramatic victory coming as Amanda Dixon Chipped in for Birdie from 20 yards off #18 to defeat Penny Bitzer in the Semi Finals.  It took 20 holes for Becky Krakowski to defeat Cathy Jefferson in the 1st Round.

    The Stroke Play Championship was suspended for 9:18 minutes on Monday and Tuesday due to weather.  Play was suspended on Monday at 10:15am with only 2 groups having teed off, play resumed at 3pm with the last groups finishing as darkness was falling on the longest day of the year.  Rain then came the following Morning and play was not able to resume until noon.  All 36 Holes where competed.
